You have a sign on your yard that says you have a home security alarm system. But really how safe are you from being a victim of home intrusion? Lets say your have a home security alarm system that you pay $50.00 a month or more. With this plan if someone breaks into you home police could be called automatically and sent to your home. A good idea, right?
What is the average time for the police to respond to a 911 call? You are correct, it depends on the city. But generally when you dial 911 and you call for fireman or paramedics your response time could be as little as 5 min. If you call 911 and ask for police because of a home intrusion then you are looking at 30 min to 2 hrs. or longer.
Burglars know this. So when it comes to home security alarms, that you pay $50.00 and up per month, burglars may not pay much attention to them. They know they will be in and out of your house in less than 10min. They will be long gone and probably have your belonging cashed out before the police arrive.
So what to do? Get a dog. Yes really, dogs are the best home deterrents to home intrusions. Why? Simple, nobody wants to mess with an angry dog. Burglars are just as afraid of angry dogs as you and I.
OK, you really don't want to get a dog and have to deal with the care and clean up. What is the best alternative? You get a motion detection electronic watch dog and a sign that says "Beware of Dog" and whaa-la. You have a security system that is probably just as good of a deterrent to burglars as a sign in the yard that says you have a home security system.
I am not saying this is 100% perfect plan but I am saying that you don't have to pay a lot of money to set the same results as a monthly pay plan. The big home security alarm companies will throw all sorts of 'statistics' at you claiming otherwise but really in the long run haven't you found in your life the best answers are usually the simple ones.
For around $100.00 you can have your house protected just as good as if you were paying $50.00 dollars a month. Just think about it. It does make very good sense.
