AdSense Problems

Applying for AdSense should be simple, and yet a large amount of people have problems getting approved for the program. This article explores some of the more common reasons for people getting their sites rejected.

If you have a website, no matter virtually what subject it is about then you can make money from Google AdSense with it, but there are a few exceptions to this as you cannot run it on websites related to hate, racism, explosives, terrorism, gambling, pornography and drugs. (Although this list is not extensive it gives you an idea of what sites you cannot run it on). So if you have site that falls in to one of these categories then your site will be rejected automatically.

This list of prohibited sites is available on the AdSense website and so make sure your site is not on the prohibited list before applying otherwise you are just likely to get frustrated when rejected from the program.

However overall as it delivers contextual ads e.g. the ads that are displayed are relevant to your websites content, then it is suitable to use on the majority of sites.

Other problems that commonly occur can easily be avoided, as an example Google requires you to fill in your full contact details, including your name, address, post/zip code and a working email address.

You would be stunned at how many people are rumoured to get rejected for simply not filling in these basic details correctly. So make sure you do.

Also make sure that your email address is working and correct. This is particularly important if you have only just set up a website as this is often when email problems occur - so check it is sending and receiving before applying.

Also note that you cannot run AdSense ads on a website that is about AdSense, yet many people set up a blog about how to make money with AdSense and then wonder why their applications are turned down or wonder why they suddenly get banned from AdSense.

Your website also needs to meet certain quality standards (Again these can be found on the AdSense website), such as your site needs to be fully working e.g. no "Under construction" pages. All links need to be working. So if you have pages that are not yet finished then do not put links to them on your site until the pages are completed.
