Wholesale Sourcing Tips for Newbies

If you want to sell wholesale products online, this can be a very profitable business. But in order to operate a successful online store, there are a few things you will have to do well.

1. You need to be able to create a website that appeals to people

2. You need to sell the right products,

3. And, you need to be able to get people to your website so you can present your offering.

Luckily, there are great resources to help you set up your e-commerce store. Some are paid and some are free to use and take advantage of.

Sourcing Great Products to Sell

One of the key aspects to a successful e-commerce business is that you need to find the right products to resell and source them from a good wholesaler. There needs to be a good flow of information between you and your wholesaler. The products need to be in demand and they need to be of good quality. The pricing needs to allow you to make money. Also, the delivery transactions, whether they are to come to you or are to go directly to your customers, needs to be smooth.

Here are some tips for sourcing good wholesalers to deal with:

· Learn the market you're planning on working in. This will help you develop your website in a way that will appeal to your target audience. This will increase your chance of getting website traffic and of making sales.

· Check out some dropship and wholesale B2B (business to business) directories. There are many of these and they can help you find companies to deal with. You might even start here before you know what you want to sell as you can get ideas for various products that you might want to sell from your website.

· Carefully research companies you're considering dealing with before you send money to them.

· If you choose a company to deal with, especially an overseas company, do a small test order before ordering a large one.

· If possible, use escrow services with new companies to be sure you are protected. An escrow service will hold the money for the transaction and will only release it to the wholesale company when you agree. And with escrow services, the money typically won't be released back to you unless you agree or the wholesaler wins in a moderated arbitration session.

E-commerce websites can be highly profitable. Researching to find the right products coupled with the right strategic relationships and site execution could help you achieve success.

AdSense Tips for Newbies

AdSense is a double-edged sword; sure, it can earn you money but it can also be a distraction. Picture this:

You have a new website and you've been accepted by AdSense so you rush off to generate the code and install it on your site. Perfect, you think, the money will soon come rolling in. WRONG! It won't and this is why.

Tip #1 AdSense don't disclose which niches have the best Click Through Ratio (CTR). (By the way CTR is clicks divided by page views so if you have 10 clicks from 100 page views, your CTR is 10% - that's actually extremely high, so is just an example.)

Tip #2 If you have a new website, you probably don't get more than 10 visitors a day which equates to 30 per month. Even if your CTR is 10%, you have had 3 clicks and unless you're in a very high value niche, you have just earned around $0.30

Tip #3 The average CTR is probably between 0.5 and 2%, if you're lucky, so look at this another way, you didn't earn anything like $0.30 cents in the month.

Tip #4 Don't let AdSense distract you! I remember when I first started, I couldn't wait to look at my AdSense account to see how much I was earning and when I discovered it was virtually nothing, I thought that maybe the ad positions or colours or content were wrong, so I moved them and changed them but the income didn't get any bigger because I didn't have the traffic and I was wasting time that I could have used to create content.

Tip #5 Did I mention content? Well I will now because it's the life-blood of a website, particularly one that aspires to earn with AdSense. Unique, informative content is paramount.

Tip #6 Don't expect to make money from a news or review site which just regurgitates what others have already reported. You won't get the traffic because the big boys who originated the content will have already got the audience.

Tip #7 Don't write a personal blog because nobody cares and you won't get traffic except maybe from your friends. Celebrities can get away with it because people are interested in the minutiae of their lives but AdSense ads won't be focused if you use only personal content.

Tip #8 If you want to suddenly attract traffic, you need a hook. Make videos using a funny voice or with your dog doing tricks or your cat performing for the camera - that will make people watch your videos and visit your site.

Tip #9 Create your website and populate it with great content before you ever install AdSense; you will already have traffic and you won't be distracted from your main purpose.

Tip #10 Just work at it. Create content regularly which helps people and which they want to read; that's the only way you'll attract traffic to your site and revenue from AdSense

So, I hope these AdSense tips will help you to focus on your content and forget those measly few cents for the time being.

Writing an eBook - The 5 Most Important Tips for Newbies

So you've decided you want to have a book. Good for you. Books and eBooks are amongst the best tools for marketing. Whether you are intending to sell them to make money, or giving them away to gain customers. Books and eBooks are amongst the best tools that you can get to build your business around.

But then comes the problem.

How do you write an eBook?

There are a number of different methods for writing an eBook or writing a book. Or more correctly for getting a book. Some are good. Some are not so good. However, for this article I'm going to focus on actually writing an eBook yourself.

Writing an eBook or any long work can be difficult. And working one's way through all of the advice out there can be just as difficult. So in this article, I'm going to give the newbie writer a hand up with five of the most important tips.

1. Always start with the end in mind

Yes, I know I've just quoted Stephen Covey. But the advice applies even more to writing a book or eBook. The effort you are about to undertake will vary considerably depending on the nature of the product. Many traditional eBooks were only 20 pages in length. Or even less. And people do continue to create report-sized eBooks despite the influx of longer Book-length versions. What you are going to use the book for will greatly affect the size and style of the book or eBook. It also affects how much, if anything, you are going to charge. Which in turn also has an effect on the size. Even the format (print or electronic) will be affected by what you are going to do with the book.

2. Always write with a system

Writing is a process. And like any other process, there are two major ways to do it. The successful way and the unsuccessful way. Writing a book length piece -- regardless of its form -- is not a trivial exercise. It's not like writing an essay or writing an article like this one. You need to follow a system based on the type of book you are writing. An attempt to just sit down and write will almost inevitably lead to failure.

3. Know your reader

Writing a book without a reader is like taking a trip without a destination. It can lead to some glorious surprises -- but more likely to a sad conclusion. There is no point in writing an eBook that no one will read. But to be read, a book needs to interest the reader. It needs to draw them into it. To accomplish that, a writer must know before they start what will interest the reader. And then they must write that book. Not the one they started to write.

4. Have a writer's hole.

Every writer has a set of conditions that help him create. Every writer has a set of conditions that prevent her creating. Most writers have multiple sets depending on the task. You need to have a place for each of the tasks in the process. It's easiest if they are all the same place, but they key is that you need to be able to start immediately without any inherent delays.

5. Have a set schedule

Motivation is probably the biggest issue that a writer has. With motivation, they will overcome anything in their quest of writing an eBook. However, it is a great deal easier if you have a specific chunk of time allocated for writing. Be firm. No interruptions. No disturbances. No intrusions. This is your writing time and you need to produce.
