3 Simple Ways To Check And Evaluate Your Backlinks

Since Google did its game-changing Penguin Update last month, it seems like everyone is talking about links and backlinks. Now, more than ever, it's very crucial that you have the right linking structure in place - both with internal links on your site and with external links pointing back to your site.

The key word here is "natural" - no pun intended.

All your links must appear natural to Google if you want to rank for your targeted keywords. Any links which suggest you're trying to "game" or "manipulate" the system will send up red flags and may get you penalized by Google.

SEO experts are already pointing out some obvious linking mistakes like using the same keyword phrase in all your links, getting site-wide links from one source, using spammy blog networks and blogroll links, over-optimizing your site with keywords, linking to bad neighborhoods... and the list goes on.

Links have become very important to the success of your online site or business - so you must have a simple way of finding suitable link partners or backlinks. Obviously, you want backlinks which will help your site's rankings, not harm them.

You need a simple way to check or evaluate any potential backlinks or even the current links you have flowing back to your site. Yahoo's old Site Explorer can still be used (if you have a Bing Webmaster Tools account) but this service is now somewhat limited. We all need an alternative to the old Site Explorer...

So here are 3 simple ways to check your backlinks:

1. PageRank - I know everyone says Google PageRank is dead and not very important anymore. But if you ask anyone who has a site, if they would turn down a direct link from the homepage of a PR7 or PR8 site and you will probably discover that PageRank is alive and well.

PageRank is the ranking score (0-10) of how important Google believes any site or page is on the web. Get a link (dofollow or even nofollow) from an important site and a small amount of PR flows to your site depending on how many links are on that page.

While PageRank is not that important anymore for getting your keywords ranked, it can still give you a simple way of judging the importance of a site or page. It is still something you can use to evaluate your linking partners.

2. MozRank - This is another way to discover how important a domain or page is on the web. This ranking system is run by by SeoMoz.com. You can access this method by using the OpenSiteExplorer site, and it will give you a Page Authority and Domain Authority number for that site or page.

It will also give you other vital information about a page or site with a detailed link analysis, however full access to this ranking system is very limited unless you get the paid option. But still worth trying for a very simple assessment of any page or site. http://www.seomoz.org

3. Citation & Trust Flow - This evaluation system is run by MajesticSeo.com and gives you valuable information about a site or your backlinks. This site has created two new "flow metrics" which tell you the number of links pointing to a site, but more importantly it gives the amount of trust flowing through that site.

These days, it's all about getting a vote of trust from a related high ranking site, to increase your rankings. These two metrics will help you find good linking partners. What I really like, they put all this information in a graph - so you can quickly see how important a site is on the web.

One major drawback, in order to get this information, you have to sign up for a free account but I found it worth it. There is also a paid option but I haven't tried this yet. Regardless, I am finding this ranking system very helpful for finding backlinks. http://www.majesticseo.com

There you have it, 3 simple ways to better choose your linking partners or to check your current backlinks. Of course, I have always recommended you also use the free SEOQuake toolbar, which you can place on your browser. As you surf a site, you can quickly see the PageRank, Alexa numbers, Age of site... and so on.

Used in combination with the other evaluation methods mentioned above, it will give you a great way to check and evaluate your backlinks and linking partners.

How Do You Write Your Own E-Book? - A Simple Plan

So, how exactly do you write an e-book?

At the moment, we're going to assume that you are already well-versed in your topic, which will obviously make this entire process easier. Believe it or not, the process of creating an e-book is surprisingly simple, as long as you make a commitment to get the work done.

Creating an excellent book on your chosen topic is as simple as sitting down with a pen and paper and planning an outline for your topic. Whether your niche is weight loss, how to improve sales skills, or just about anything else you can think of, you should be able to sit down and list the most important topics that your potential customers would be interested in. You would then fill in the outline with a table of contents like you might find in a typical book at the bookstore.

That is, after you write down the 10 or 12 most important topics in your niche, you would then create several subtopics under each main heading. If you write roughly a page or so for each sub topic, you could easily have an e-book that runs anywhere from 50 to well over 100 pages long!

Obviously, the exact details are up to you. You don't have to write a whole page on each subtopic, but this is an excellent guideline to help you get started. You really shouldn't have any trouble accomplishing this if you're already proficient in your subject. You could spend a couple of weeks writing the e-book full time, or you could simply break it down to a couple of pages a day for a few months.

Depending on your topic and the length of your e-book, this freelance project could run you anywhere from a few hundred dollars to over a couple thousand dollars. It all depends on how long your e-book will be and the level of expertise and writing skill you demand from the freelance writer.

Of course, many beginners in Internet marketing don't have this kind of cash to spare, in which case your only option is to write the e-book yourself. If you're willing to put in the time and effort and have at least a decent writing ability (not necessarily college-educated), then you should be able to accomplish this. You just have to invest some time, like maybe a few weeks, getting really familiar with the topic in order to ensure that you create a high-quality product.

Simple Guidelines to Keep Your AdSense Account Safe

Many of the web publishers and free website owners rely on the AdSense ad revenues. However, it is not quite simple. This article will help most of the AdSense account holders and yes, I am writing this on the basis of my own painful experiences. It is very difficult to moderate the activities of users on any web portals. You need not to moderate all the time, just read go through this article and you will feel somewhat relaxed.

The websites with original and unique content are always best fit the AdSense, but make sure that you obtain copyrights from DMCA, or freecopyrights etc. Never copy the content from other sites and paste it in to your content site, due to this your site will be penalized by most of the search engines and this will impact to your incoming traffic and your PageRank factor will get decreased. Use copyscape or any other similar tool to check the whether somebody has copied your content, make this as a regular habit; If you come across any such issues just complain to dmca to get those content removed from other sites who have copied your content. The large portals like classifieds, articles, directories, social networking sites, dating, auctions are good to increase your revenue but the thing is all these sites may contain links to other sites, in case if such links are not compliance with AdSense then this will become a threat to your site. Dating sites are good but it should not contain any abusive materials, photos or contents and any links to adult or porn sites, its mostly because of bad external links the publishers get disabled their account. For those who owns any large web portals then you can avoid those external links get indexed web spiders or robots.

Never use paid advertising methods to generate your AdSense revenue. Never purchase traffic from unknown sources or those who are not reputed. If the paid advertising becomes necessary, then spend minimum cost on it. Try to optimize the website and try to get organic web traffic rather than purchasing paid traffic, this risks your AdSense account. Never share the URL of your blogs and websites when their is not necessary. Do not inform to anyone about your site's existence, you can avoid invalid click activity. Try to follow the AdSense policies up to your best. Don't put your ad codes into a newly launched website. Take your time to bring some traffic and perform the initial paid advertising, create a track of minimum visitors for your site in the web records. Do some SEO, build links and try to elevate your website page rank. Then you are safe to display ads in your site. Be responsive and participate in the forum to get immediate help and support other members also if its possible.

A sudden raise in the CTR is not good for any site and a high CTR is not good for large portals. Be responsive and alert about your AdSense account. Use stat counter to monitor your web traffic. There are many other measures but these are important and it should be considered always.
